Black Women in Production (BWIP) is a Black women-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization creating pathways into film production for Black women entering, emerging, and sustaining careers in the industry.
We exist to expand access, increase visibility, and invest in the women shaping the future of film production. Through community, advocacy, strategic partnerships, and funding, we're working to remove barriers and create more equitable opportunities for Black women behind the camera.
Through initiatives like We Made Room and the GreenLit Fund, BWIP provides community, mentorship, professional development, funding opportunities, and industry connections that help Black women navigate the industry, build meaningful relationships, and build sustainable careers.
We believe talent, experience, and potential should never be limited by when someone begins their journey. Whether someone is entering the industry for the first time, making a second-career transition, or advancing their career, BWIP exists to ensure they don't have to navigate the path alone.
